At the South County Youth Task Force (SCYTF), we have many events throughout the year in both Gilroy and Morgan Hill. We focus on bringing the community and families together for fun and educational events. Below are some of our past events with pictures. Learn more about upcoming events on our Event Calendar page.
A handball tournament in South County like no other. This tournament was only for youth 17 and under. A day full of intense competition, food, and prizes for youth and their families.
This local event promotes the arts and children’s creativity. A free hands-on-the arts event for children 5+, which allows children to experience workshops by local volunteer artists from the community.
On August 2, 2022, the Gilroy Police Department hosted an Ice Cream with a Cop. Community members could interact with the Gilroy Police Department and see the SWAT BearCat vehicle, police motorcycles, and K-9 “Maverick”!

Families met local Gilroy Police Officers and enjoyed some delicious ice cream. They saw horses from the mounted unit, met K-9 “Maverick,” and learned about vehicles and equipment used by police officers.
On October 9 and 10, 2021, youth and adult volunteers beautified a neighborhood in Gilroy and a park in Morgan Hill through the Beautiful Day 2021 Weekend Event.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
