On October 9 and 10, 2021, youth and adult volunteers and South County Youth Task Force (SCYTF) team members, beautified a neighborhood in Gilroy and a park in Morgan Hill through the Beautiful Day 2021 Weekend Event.  Beautiful Day is an organization that supports communities by carrying-out beautification projects.  

 

In Gilroy, 75 volunteers repaired and repainted the long, prominent fence along Murray Avenue by San Ysidro Park.  They also removed trash, debris, and weeds, and placed a weed barrier next to the sidewalk before covering it with mulch.  They even installed a “Little Library” by the intersection near South Valley Middle School. 

 

In Morgan Hill, 38 volunteers repaired and rejuvenated the worn-down bathrooms and repainted the walls and floors.  They planted two trees and repainted the parking lot lines in front of the Boys and Girls Club.  On the back of the Boys and Girls Club, they painted a large mural and installed a Little Library.
